{"id":387,"date":"2013-04-24T17:24:10","date_gmt":"2013-04-24T21:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mayabielinski.com\/?p=387"},"modified":"2014-10-15T12:54:25","modified_gmt":"2014-10-15T16:54:25","slug":"digital-edition-framework-or-boilerplate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mayabielinski.com\/?p=387","title":{"rendered":"Digital Edition Framework or Boilerplate?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m working with Emily Murphy (who organized <a href=\"http:\/\/queensu2013.thatcamp.org\">THATCamp Queensu 2013<\/a> with me) to image, transcribe, encode, and provide annotations for a Queen&#8217;s University Special Collections copy of the first edition of Lewis Carroll&#8217;s <em>Phantasmagoria and Other Poems <\/em>(check out <a href=\"http:\/\/unpress.bandersnatch.org\/carroll,lewis\/phantasm.html\">this edition of the text<\/a>, or the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gutenberg.org\/files\/651\/651-h\/651-h.htm\">Gutenberg.org edition<\/a>, which are in the public domain). It&#8217;s a charming text, and the Library&#8217;s copy is in good shape.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mayabielinski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/phantasmagoria.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-531\" src=\"http:\/\/mayabielinski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/phantasmagoria.jpg\" alt=\"phantasmagoria\" width=\"373\" height=\"524\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayabielinski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/phantasmagoria.jpg 621w, https:\/\/mayabielinski.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/phantasmagoria-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 373px) 100vw, 373px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking for a framework that will allow us to publish our digital edition online. I love <a href=\"http:\/\/teiboilerplate.org\">TEI Boilerplate <\/a>(the main site seems to be down at the time of posting, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/GrantLS\/TEI-Boilerplate\">source code<\/a> is still available on Grant L. Simpson&#8217;s GitHub), but I&#8217;m looking for a something that allows me to load up images of the text we&#8217;ve encoded, and connect extra-textual critical apparatuses to the images and transcription. In an ideal world the whole thing would be easily navigable and searchable. I&#8217;ve just learned about the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.teichi.org\/\">TEICHI framework<\/a>, which I am currently looking into.
